Sparrowhawk
This is the second time in recent weeks that a Sparrowhawk has caught a pigeon and plucked it on our lawn leaving piles of feathers to be collected up.
What an amazing opportunity and picture. Please can you bring her (I think it's a her) up here. I've lots of pigeons for her. The only sparrowhawk I've ever seen in my garden tried to take a bird from the bird table but crashed into the plants at the side of the pond and nearly did itself a mischief.
I'm a blogger - nowadays that seems to be my main occupation and Rambles from My Chair is my main blog. Retired local government executive - now studying how to survive a neurological disorder that gives me various problems but, hopefully, a whole new outlook on life and an increased sense of humour and perspective. I enjoy all manner of communication apart from the telephone and am constantly e-mailing, texting, writing postcards and commenting on other people's blogs.
Scriptor Senex is Latin for Old Writer and my real name is John but I've almost forgotten that nowadays...
